CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING
December 11, 2024
1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Also in attendance: City Manager Steven Spedowfski, Assistant City Attorney Alicia Poon, and City Clerk Christina Franco.
2. COUNCIL BUSINESS
2.1 Consideration of, and Direction to Staff Regarding Options, to Fill a Vacancy on the City Council
Staff report by Christina Franco, City Clerk.
Public comment was received from Greg Carr, Susie Ferris-Inderkum, Dinesh Govindarao, Chirag Kathrani. Written public comment was received from Serv Jaynest and Vi Lam West.
Cm. Rubio's motion to appoint a resident to fill the city council vacancy was seconded by Cm. Verose. The motion passed 4-0-0-0.
Cm. Verose's motion to require a 400-word count candidate statement as part of the application process, conduct individual interviews of up to eight (8) candidates, livestream the interviews, and each councilmember to provide the City Clerk with a ballot at the 1/6/25 special meeting of up to 2 candidates to interview, was seconded by Cm. Rubio. The motion passed 4-0-0-0.
3. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 6:29 p.m.
