SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
September 3, 2025
1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Mayor Armstrong called the meeting to order at 6:12 pm.
Councilmember Rubio attended the meeting remotely and provided a statement of just cause.

2. COUNCIL BUSINESS
2.1 Teen Council Chair / Parks & Community Services Commission Student Commissioner Appointment
The City Council interviewed five qualified candidates for the position of Teen Council Chair.
No public comment was received on this item.
Vice Mayor Verose's motion to appoint Varsha Jonnalagadda as the Teen Council Chair and the Parks & Community Services Student Commissioner for a term to expire in June 2026 was seconded by Cm. Rubio. A roll call vote was taken. The motion passed 5-0-0-0.
The City Council took a break at 7:52 p.m. and reconvened at 8:00 p.m.
2.2 Teen Council Vice Chair Appointment
The City Council interviewed six candidates and took into consideration four of the candidates previously interviewed for the position of Teen Council Vice Chair.
No public comment was received on this item.
Vice Mayor Verose's motion to appoint Tanya Grewal as the Teen Council Vice Chair for a term to expire in June 2027 was seconded by Mayor Armstrong. A roll call vote was taken. The motion passed 5-0-0-0.
