AGENDA TITLE
Approve a First Amendment to the Agreement with Jorge Melgoza, DBA Ardent Ergonomics for preventative ergonomics assessments
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Authorize the City Manager to execute a first amendment to the agreement with Jorge Melgoza, DBA Ardent Ergonomics, to continue to provide preventative ergonomic assessments for City employees for an additional amount not to exceed $50,000 (not to exceed $100,000 for the entirety of the Agreement expiring on November 22, 2024), subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney (Agreement No. 2023-XXX).

DISCUSSION
The City has a contractual relationship with Jorge Melgoza, DBA Ardent Ergonomics, for preventative ergonomics services, which include ergonomic assessments and evaluations. The Agreement provides the City with the resources necessary to efficiently meet its ergonomic compliance and safety needs, on an as-needed basis. Ardent Ergonomics has specialized experience and expert knowledge in the field of ergonomic evaluations and conducting ergonomic risk assessments. The First Amendment to the Agreement will increase the not-to-exceed amount from $50,000 to $100,000. The Amendment does not guarantee work for the consultant.
FISCAL IMPACT
Contract authority may be paid in its entirety during any given fiscal year, expended throughout the term of the contract, or not spent at all. Moreover, any contract services and associated expenditures are subject to available funding in the Human Resources Department budget. Funds are budgeted and available in the following accounts for the specified year:
