CouncilmemberLopezinformed me that the location actually sits in Tustin. I checked this out on a Ward 3 boundary map and it seemscorrect.

A fire erupted at the subject bus stop just a few days ago, immediately acrossthe street from the Metro Senior Apartments, a residencefor individuals 62 and older.

It would be speculationto state the causeof the fire; however, what is most alarming is the proximity of the fire to a lab which contains hazardousmaterials and chemicalsand to a senior citizen community, many who are disabled and are wheelchair bound.
No matter what the precautionsat LabCorp, those disabledsenior citizens who live nearby were placedat risk and that is unacceptable.
My hope is that the situation doesnot repeat itself, here or anywherein the City. Moreimportantly, as the Counciland with the hiring of a new City Managerand PoliceChief, something needsto be done to improve response times.
As this situation illustrates, these problemsdo not correct themselvesand can only becomeworse, even to the point of endangeringlives.
