It is with a heavy heart that I express my disappointment in the recent decision to vote against this crucial resolution to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian People in Support of a Ceasefire. I am writing to you as a concerned member of the community to urge your support.
Our tax dollars that can help us here in our communities aid in funding Israel to continue its aggression against Palestinians. Experts around the world say people are being killed in Gaza more quickly than in even the deadliest moments of the U.S.-led attacks in Iraq and Afghanistan, which were themselves widely criticized by human rights groups.
The situation in Gaza demands our immediate attention and action. The ongoing violence has led to 20,000 innocent lives most of which are women and children, which has perpetuated a humanitarian crisis of catastrophic proportions. People are starving to death, being sniped by Israeli soldiers on the street, bulldozed and burying patients alive! Santa Ana, as a city that has always been at the forefront of social justice, it is imperative that the council take a stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and call for an end to the senseless bloodshed
The decision to reject the ceasefire resolution is not just a political matter; it is a moral imperative. We cannot turn a blind eye to the suffering of the Palestinian people, nor can we allow political rhetoric to overshadow the urgent need for peace and justice. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that Santa Ana city does not condone or support any form of violence or oppression, especially when communities here risk attacks and hate crimes for supporting Palestine.
I implore you to reconsider your position and agendize to vote in favor of a resolution calling for a permanent ceasefire and an end to the genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian 1 people in Gaza. By doing so, Santa Ana will reaffirm its commitment to upholding the principles of humanity, justice, and peace.

It is with a heavy heart that I express my disappointment in the recent decision to vote against this crucial resolution to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian People in Support of a Ceasefire. I am writing to you as a concerned member of the community to urge your support.
Our tax dollars that can help us here in our communities aid in funding Israel to continue its aggression against Palestinians. Experts around the world say people are being killed in Gaza more quickly than in even the deadliest moments of the U.S.-led attacks in Iraq and Afghanistan, which were themselves widely criticized by human rights groups.
The situation in Gaza demands our immediate attention and action. The ongoing violence has led to 20,000 innocent lives most of which are women and children, which has perpetuated a humanitarian crisis of catastrophic proportions. People are starving to death, being sniped by Israeli soldiers on the street, bulldozed and burying patients alive! Santa Ana, as a city that has always been at the forefront of social justice, it is imperative that the council take a stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and call for an end to the senseless bloodshed
The decision to reject the ceasefire resolution is not just a political matter; it is a moral imperative. We cannot turn a blind eye to the suffering of the Palestinian people, nor can we allow political rhetoric to overshadow the urgent need for peace and justice. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that Santa Ana city does not condone or support any form of violence or oppression, especially when communities here risk attacks and hate crimes for supporting Palestine.
I implore you to reconsider your position and agendize to vote in favor of a resolution calling for a permanent ceasefire and an end to the genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian 203
people in Gaza. By doing so, Santa Ana will reaffirm its commitment to upholding the principles of humanity, justice, and peace.

It is with a heavy heart that I express my disappointment in the recent decision to vote against this crucial resolution to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian People in Support of a Ceasefire. I am writing to you as a concerned member of the community to urge your support.
Our tax dollars that can help us here in our communities aid in funding Israel to continue its aggression against Palestinians. Experts around the world say people are being killed in Gaza more quickly than in even the deadliest moments of the U.S.-led attacks in Iraq and Afghanistan, which were themselves widely criticized by human rights groups.
The situation in Gaza demands our immediate attention and action. The ongoing violence has led to 20,000 innocent lives most of which are women and children, which has perpetuated a humanitarian crisis of catastrophic proportions. People are starving to death, being sniped by Israeli soldiers on the street, bulldozed and burying patients alive! Santa Ana, as a city that has always been at the forefront of social justice, it is imperative that the council take a stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and call for an end to the senseless bloodshed
The decision to reject the ceasefire resolution is not just a political matter; it is a moral imperative. We cannot turn a blind eye to the suffering of the Palestinian people, nor can we allow political rhetoric to overshadow the urgent need for peace and justice. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that Santa Ana city does not condone or support any form of violence or oppression, especially when communities here risk attacks and hate crimes for supporting Palestine.
I implore you to reconsider your position and agendize to vote in favor of a resolution calling for a permanent ceasefire and an end to the genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian 162
people in Gaza. By doing so, Santa Ana will reaffirm its commitment to upholding the principles of humanity, justice, and peace.

Ignoring the plight of the Palestinian people or allowing political discourse to overshadow the pressing need for peace and justice is unconscionable. We, as a community, bear the responsibility to ensure that Santa Ana does not endorse or facilitate any acts of violence or suppression, particularly when local groups face potential backlash and hate crimes for their support of Palestine. 93 I earnestly request that you reevaluate your stance and schedule a vote in favor of a resolution that not only demands a lasting ceasefire but also calls for an end to the atrocities and systematic displacement of Palestinian people in Gaza. I call on you today to immediately stop funding the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. Based on recent public records obtained by the Open Information Collective, in the past two years, the City of Santa Ana has spent $386,902.54 on products from Siemens, $149,507.96 on products from Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and $11,018.48 on products from HP proper.
Siemens' spinoff company, Yunex, was instrumental in the construction of Highway 16, which is designed for Israeli settler-colonialists to be able to more easily access the Palestinian Quarter of Jerusalem (also known as Quds), driving out Palestinians and forming new, illegal settlements. They also were awarded contracts for the EuroAsia Interconnector, which is a project to allow Israeli settlements to cheaply purchase fossil fuel-based electricity from Europe, accelerating the genocide of Palestine and further contributing to the climate crisis.
HP and HPE are also directly complicit in this genocide. They sell equipment to the Israeli military, which is currently butchering and bombing Gaza; over 30,000 Palestinians, including 10,000 children, have already been slaughtered. Their technology is also used for facial recognition to enforce Israeli apartheid, keeping out and monitoring Palestinians.
How the City spends its money shows its priorities. Budgets are moral documents, and the City has so far shown that it is fully willing to support companies that perpetuate genocide. I call for the City to immediately divest from, and cancel all contracts/future orders with, Siemens, HP, and HPE, as well as the other companies mentioned by the BDS National Committee as being complicit in the genocide of Palestine.

Major human rights organizations around the world have been condemning the acts of Israel which are committed with monetary support of our USA taxes. Enough is enough. When did bombing babies even become controversial?? Please search your souls and make a definitive statement on this as Long Beach city council did. You may say, this has nothing to do with Santa Ana. Then why are our taxes paying for it? We are complicit. This must stop! A ceasefire is the bare minimum.
