Good Morning,
I watched the City Council meeting last night on cable. I am not sure what happened to #23 that has to do with McDonalds. Did the representative for McDonalds ask that it be removed for a discussion by the Council? Was it sent back to the Planning Commission? It appeared to me that McDonalds would have to start the process again Please explain it.
Also, Winston Covington does not speak for all of Meredith Parkwood, Meredith Terrace and Portola Park. I feel a survey needs to be done in these neighborhoods.
Thank you,
Joseph Monge

Another piece of our history up in smoke. The question I ask myself is why did we allow this place to be vacant? It could have been rented out for the past 6-7 years that is has been standing vacant waiting for a developer to obtain entitlements and financing. Vacancy and Criminal Vagrants are our enemy to historic preservation in this town. Tim Rush, Chair Historic Resources Commission

Dear Santa Ana City Council:
My name is Selina Diaz Gonzales. My husband, Jerry Gonzales, and I have been Santa Ana residents since 2015. We have very much enjoyed our time living in the Washington Square neighborhood.
One thing we have often wished for ourselves and our dog Jack, is a neighborhood park within walking distance of our home. I would urge you to approve the funding for a Feasibility Study for our desired walkable pocket park. This is the last undeveloped property in our neighborhood, perfect for a park Sincerely,
Selina & Jerry Gonzales

As a resident of Santa Ana and Washington Square I believe a park would be a wonderful addition to the community.

Can you inform this crazy councilman Phil that we don't need a platform on the water tower... What are you going to look at??? Bad neighborhoods and a freeway?? Come on city we can do better than that! We need money for graffiti removal due to the unsupervised kids and lousy parenting.. Potholes filled, streets re paved, not a new park and other programs that don't benefit 90% of us....
Please pass the word along.... This will go to the city.

Subject: CDBG Funding for Economic Development Programs that Support Childcare Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Dear Santa Ana City Council,
I am a parent of three and have noticed the lack of resources available for childcare providers and families in our city.
I've struggled due to the limited affordable childcare options and support available. I have friends in this same boat.
We need to come together as a community and ensure that every child has access to quality childcare, and every provider has the necessary resources to offer it.
The lack of support from the City not only impacts the well-being of our children but also contributes to financial and emotional strain on working families.
Please prioritize funding and support for childcare in Santa Ana.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Kindly,
Daniella Miller

To the esteemed members of the Santa Ana City Council,
As a long time childcare provider in our community, I can't help but express my disappointment in the lack of economic development support for the childcare sector.
I know there are opportunities for our City Council to support innovative child care initiatives but it seems like you have not realized the importance.
The absence of funding for programs aimed at supporting providers and families is sad, honestly. Without support from our City, our ability to offer the quality care our children deserve is negatively impacted.
The lack of support from the City Council impacts both the well being of children in our community and the success of working families.
Please prioritize funding for initiatives that will benefit the childcare sector and the families it serves.
Sincerely,
Liz Jones

Honorable members of the Santa Ana City Council,
It has come to my attention that there is a significant lack of resources available for childcare providers in our city. Please realize that the lack of support for early education workers also shows a lack of support for thriving families and businesses. I work in early education and I see the challenges faced by both childcare providers and families due to the shortage of support.
The City Council's decision to forgo economic development support for the childcare sector is disappointing, as it perpetuates the cycle of economic strain on working families. Our City must prioritize investing in the childcare sector to ensure that all families have access to quality care and support.
Please think about the long-term impacts of your decisions and who you're really affecting.
Thank you.

Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Dear Santa Ana City Council,
As a parent navigating the challenges of finding quality childcare in our city, I am disappointed by the lack of resources available.
Apparently I make too much money for many assistance resources, yet I do not make enough money to afford the high cost of childcare on my own. How can this be?
It is discouraging to see the struggles faced by childcare providers and families due to the limited options and funding support for these small businesses.
I understand the City Council had an opportunity to provide economic development support to the childcare sector, yet this opportunity was not seized. The root of a successful community is in the effort and care it shows to the children.
Please think about the impact of this decision on our children and the working families they come from! Do better, City Council
Sincerely,
Emily Roberts

To whom it may concern:
It is clear that there is a critical lack of resources available for childcare providers, and therefore families, in our city.
When the success of children is neglected, the state of the community in which those children live will suffer.
As a dedicated childcare provider in Santa Ana, I speak from experience.
I am deeply concerned about the challenges faced by both daycare owners and families due to this shortage of support.
The city council's decision not to fund economic development programs for the childcare sector is very unfortunate and leaves many of us feeling overlooked and undervalued.
This lack of support not only impacts the well-being of our children but also contributes to the economic strain on working families.
City council must reconsider and prioritize support for the childcare sector.

Re: Delayed Process for Critical Related Bristol Development Dear Mayor Amezcua,
As expressed in our previous correspondence, the Orange County Business Council is in strong support for the $3 billion Related Bristol mixed-use development in south Santa Ana. This well managed project would be the single largest private investment in Santa Ana's 154-year history and will deliver tremendous economic and community benefits to one of the most important cities in our region. We are fortunate to have such a strong entity with an established track record willing to make a significant investment into your city which will benefit the entire region.
Yet, now several months after providing our letter of support, Related Bristol has yet to have a single formal hearing. This is unfortunate for the City and reduces confidence in the business community for future investments. This project is one of a handful of game-changing investments currently in development or under consideration in Orange County, and its importance to Santa Ana and the region simply can't be understated.
Related Bristol will create an estimated 7,500 new construction or permanent jobs, many of them local hires, $500 million in net surplus revenue to the city in the first 30 years of the project and $2.9 billion in economic stimulus to the region. You are well aware of the $535 million community benefits package included in the development proposal. 13 acres of actively programmed open space, a police substation and $80 million of offsite public infrastructure improvements that Related has agreed to cover as part of its project.
Related Bristol is exactly the type of planned development needed in Santa Ana and Orange County. Related California has done everything possible in the past 20 months to expedite its approval. Now, as they are still waiting for the city to take action and advance the project through the approval process, this project is facing major deadlines and external issues that threaten the project's economic viability. All eyes are on the City and I am concerned that the window is rapidly closing to approve this project and therefore secure its benefits.
I am sorry that we could not find an opportunity to meet this week to discuss my concerns on this matter. We all prate toe a no ones for alaced Bistol Neste the petuaiy and of liy in to timely. provide the necessary approvals to complete this vital project. Thank you in advance for your attention to this.
Sincerely,
