RESOLUTION NO. 2024-XXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA CANCELING THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL
MEETING OF JUNE 18, 2024
WHEREAS, Section 409 of the Santa Ana City Charter states that the City Council shall provide for the time, place, and manner of holding its meetings; and
WHEREAS, City Council has adopted Rules and Procedures via Resolution No. 2023-047, of which Section 2(a) states “Regular meetings of the City Council shall be held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month beginning on January 1, 2014;” and
WHEREAS, on November 21, 2023, City Council approved the calendar of regularly scheduled City Council meetings in 2024, as amended, which included a regular meeting on the third Tuesday of June, June 18, 2024;
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2023-047, Section 2(b) provides that any regular meeting of the Council may be set, canceled, or rescheduled to a different date, time, or location by resolution duly adopted by the affirmative votes of a majority of the City Council or by any other manner as provided by law. The date, time, and location of any meeting set or rescheduled to a different date, time, or location shall be noticed and posted in the manner provided by law; and
WHEREAS, it is now desirable due to a potential lack of quorum to cancel the previously scheduled June 18, 2024 City Council meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The regular City Council meeting of June 18, 2024 is hereby canceled.
Section 2. The City Clerk is directed to post a Notice of Cancellation and waive notice to the City Council of said meeting as required by the Government Code.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and the City Clerk shall attest to and certify the vote adopting this Resolution.
