ProposedAction: Adoptionof an ordinanceapprovingZoningOrdinanceAmendmentNo. 2024-03 to amendseveralsectionsof ArticleII (Use Districts - GeneralProvisions) of Chapter41 (Zoning) of the SantaAnaMunicipalCode (SAMC) relatedto accessorydwellingunits (ADUs) to maintainconsistency with, and amendto reflectmodificationsto, stateADUlaw scheduledto takeeffectJanuary1, 2025, and makeotherminorclarifyingchanges.
EnvironmentalImpact: Pursuantto the CaliforniaEnvironmentalQualityAct (“CEQA”) andthe State CEQA Guidelines, adoption of this Ordinance is exempt from CEQA review pursuant to Section 15282(h) whichprovidesa statutoryexemptionfor the adoptionof an ordinanceregardingADUsina single-familyor multifamilyresidentialzoneby a city or countyto implementthe provisionsof Sections 66310et seq. of theGovernmentCodeas setforthin Section21080.17 of thePublicResourcesCode.
As a result, a Noticeof Exemption, EnvironmentalReviewNo. 2024-96, will be fileduponadoptionof this ordinance.
