My family has lived in Santa Clara for almost twenty years and have been active in the community. My daughters have grown up attending dance classes at the CRC, enjoying 4th of July picnics at Central Park, playing soccer on local fields, climbing on Live Oak playground, and learning at Ulistac nature area. The parks and rec department makes the City of Santa Clara an amazing place to raise children and my family has always appreciated the services. Now is my time to give back to the City and help as the City looks to modernize facilities and services. I would like to see the continuation of many of the classes, programs, and traditions that are open to all residents including the dance programs. I have been an active leader of my neighborhood organization (Rivermark Moms), the local school parent teacher organization (Don Callejon School Community Organization DCSCO), and led two Girl Scout Troops. These experiences have provided me with different perspectives on the needs of the local community, parents, and kids. Through my role as DCSCO president I have experience running large events for the 1,000 students and families and understand the need for communication and collaboration of a large team to turn ideas into reality. I also have experience with grant writing. I have successfully won grants for several organizations including Playful People, DCSCO, Animals Assisted Happiness, San Benito County Water District, and others.

With my Ph.D. in Finance background, I know there's no such thing as 'free lunch'. I'll try to get the job done with achievable goals for as little cost as possible, or free if I can get the authority to raise funds from our Silicon Valley community.
With my current position as the first immigrant of multiracial background and family, I know how important cultural awareness is for all residents in Santa Clara city.

' love the city of Santa Clara. Even though I lived in San Jose, Santa Clara is where I grew up. It's home. I went to St. Clare School from kindergarten to eighth grade and returned for college and my law degree at SCU just right across the street. I bought my first house in this city just last year and have been loving it ever since. I bike ride around the city and stop at local haunts like Taplands. It's such a loving and comfortable place. I always look forward to the summer Art and Wine festival every year and it would be such a dream come true to be a part of the committee that makes it happen. This is a community that I care about. I'm wanting to enrich my community ties and get every resident involved - feeling welcomed and appreciated. The pandemic has created a deep schism between neighbors, (understandably so - we couldn't gather or be physically together for a long time), leaving a longing to be together again (at least for me). The opportunity to create spaces for residents to gather, create and strengthen relationships and community Jies is so imp()rtant_ri()w.
