Dear Mr. Yee:
Hines is the owner of 3506- 3510, 3520 - 3530, 3540 - 3548, and 3550 - 3580 Bassett Street, which includes ~ 420,000 SF of class A office space currently home to 1 O+ tenants, which include the following companies:
• Intevac
• N atron Energy
• Sutter Health
• Cleanpart
• Comtect Xicom
• JD.com
• Pacific Ceramics
• Watlow
• Iron Ox
On behalf of Hines, our tenants listed above, and the hundreds of employees who are assigned to offices at our Bassett Street location, we would like to express our strong support for the City's proposal to install bicycle lanes on Bassett Street (Agnew Road to Laurel wood Road) and Removal of On-Street Parking.
As we cautiously enter what we all hope is the endemic stage of COVID-19, employers of all sizes are finalizing and beginning to implement return-to-office plans with the goal of employees returning to our Bassett Street location with increasing frequency.
Hines has always been a leader in our industry of embracing Transp01iation Demand Management strategies proactively to reduce single occupancy car trips. Climate Change is a very real and extensional threat for all of us and the transportation section contributes significant carbon emissions in California.
As our tenants and their employees return-to-office , Hines is very focused on supporting increased last mile and commute options via bicycle trips.
We applaud the City's commitment to implementing the City of Santa Clara's Bicycle Master Plan and this project specifically. Hines and our tenants are ready to support the City's efforts to make bicycle travel easier and safer in Santa Clara. Please contact me with any questions at jeffrey.hirsch@hines .com .
