CITY COUNCIL WRITTEN PETITION
Please provide the information requested below. When complete, please submit to the City Clerk's Office, 1500 Warburton Avenue, Santa Clara, CA 95050.

Date: May 25 2022
1, Armando "Gary" Ferraris _, am hereby requesting to be placed on the Santa Clara City Council Agenda for the following purpose
Many surrounding agencies have acknowledged the historical importance of Juneteenth. This federal holiday should be recognized as a a city holiday in Santa Clara. In the recent past Santa Clara has spent millions on legal fees and ballot measures in an attempt to disenfranchise the minority communities. Proclaiming Juneteenth as a City holiday would be a logical first step in correcting these wrongs and sending a message inclusion and celebration of the cultural diversity which makes Santa Clara a wonderful place to call home.

I understand that it is important that I attend the meeting in the event there are any questions the Council wishes to ask me.
