Before we begin the Council meeting, I would like to request a moment of silence to offer our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the seven individuals who tragically lost their lives from the horrific shooting in Highland Park, Illinois, yesterday.
What began as a beloved July 4th tradition ended in tragedy after a 21-year-old man opened fire on a holiday parade in the Chicago suburb, killing seven people and injuring dozens more.
Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with the victims' families, friends, and community.
Let us all please have a moment of silence in memory of these individuals.
