From: Executive Assistant to the Mayor and City Council Subject: Moment of Silence of the August 30, 2022 City Council Meeting [Before we begin the Council meeting, I would like to take a moment to remember the life of Glenda Cresap, Retired Executive Director of Heart of the Valley.] Glenda Cresap - Retired Executive Director of Heart of the Valley • Glenda Cresap was born on April 30, 1950.
• She moved to San Jose in 1971 to attend San Jose State University. • She married Mike Cresap later that year and became a young full-time mom to Heather Cresap.
• While her daughter was in Junior High School, she went back to finish her BA degree in Social Work, specializing in Gerontology, her life's passion thanks to her close relationship with her grandmother.
• Glenda served as the Executive Director for the Heart of the Valley for 31 years developing it into a well-respected, innovative, and successful nonprofit agency. • Glenda became the authority on seniors in the Santa Clara Valley. She lived her life in the service of others.
• She loved spending time with her family and her cats. She was a huge movie buff who couldn't resist chocolate. She was known for her fabulous cooking and hospitality. No one could make better chocolate chip cookies than her.
• Glenda Cresap passed away peacefully on July 1, 2022 with her family and friends by her side. She left us far too soon but managed to make a huge impact on this world • She is survived by her husband Mike Cresap, daughter Heather Cresap, sisters Patty Komes, Carla Tobiassen and Leslie Briseno, step-father Frank Neff and 12 nieces and nephews.
