You have criticized the report, questioned its methodology and impartiality, and accused the jurors of violating conflict of interest laws. Now is the time to acknowledge that you are at this moment facing a public trust crisis unlike any this city has faced in the last thirty years. Your past actions have brought you to this point. Your actions today and in the next weeks will either re-build public trust or destroy it fu rther .
Many people believe Jed York and his messengers told you to fire the former City Manager and City Attorney. Will he now tell you to hire a compliant Stadium Authority Executive Director/City Manager? Wise and ethical leaders would focus first on ethical action to rebuild public trust, like the Mayor's 6-point plan. We need to trust you so that we trust that the City Manager you choose will put the people first . .
I urge you to postpone your plan for today (Friday, October 14, 2022) and tomorrow (Saturday, October 15, 2022) and focus your next meeting on public trust .
