/ Improve Passenger Experience and Access From the West Side of the Rail Corridor • Request to Provide a Green Roof
• Not feasible with required facilities & BART critical infrastructure within Back of House building • Parking Garage roof will be solar ready
• Request to align elevated concourse with Gateway Crossings' paseo • Explored in early 2022 as a design option, but not advanced because of:
• Elevated concourse cannot align with both the paseo and the pedestrian undercrossing • Constraints on Brokaw Road with parking garage access ramp and emergency vehicle and service access
• 31% of riders anticipated to access the station from the pedestrian undercrossing (vs. 1% via Gateway Crossings' paseo)

Progress Since May 2022 Study Session: Outside BSVIl Scope VA Items below are beyond the scope of VTA's BART Phase II Project and would have significant environmental, real estate, schedule, and cost implications if included with Project.
Included in the Santa Clara Station Area Specific Plan:
• Major Gateway to City: Additional west side/Santa Clara Transit Center amenities • Additional retail or mall-like facilities
Potential standalone station area access study by the City, VTA, and Caltrain:
• Brokaw/Benton Pedestrian/Bicycle Connection
• Escalators, Elevators, and Bike Channels at West End of Existing Pedestrian Undercrossing
