A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING COUNCIL POLICY 035 ENTITLED “ GUIDELINES
FOR COMMISSIONERS FOR ATTENDANCE AT CONFERENCE
AND TRAINING EVENTS”
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF SANTA CLARA AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clara Council Policy Manual includes policies and procedures by which the City Council, Boards, Commissions, Standing and Ad Hoc Committees, shall conduct City business and activities; and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Santa Clara takes its stewardship of the City’s finances and oversight to ensure public resources should only be used where there is a substantial benefit to the City of Santa Clara; and
WHEREAS, the Council Policy 035 on Guidelines for Commissioners for Attendance at Conferences and Training Events establishes the criteria, procedures and guidelines for official travel by Commissioners to ensure that public funds are expended for travel only when it serves a purpose for the City of Santa Clara.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF SANTA CLARA AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the amended Council Policy 006 (“Guidelines for Commissioners for Attendance at Conferences and Training Events”), attached hereto as Attachment 1, is hereby approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Santa Clara.
2. Effective date. This resolution shall become effective immediately.
