Moment of Silence for Senator Dianne Feinstein
• Let us take a moment to remember Senator Dianne Feinstein. • Dianne Feinstein was born in San Francisco. She was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 1969 and became the interim Mayor of San Francisco in 1978 when Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk were killed.
• She went on to serve as the first female Mayor of San Francisco for 10 years and served in the U.S. Senate for more than 30 years representing California.
• Senator Feinstein was a trailblazer and passionate advocate for environmental protection, reproductive rights, and gun control - and was also known as a pragmatic bipartisan lawmaker.
• She was the first woman to head the Senate Intelligence Committee and the first woman to serve as the Judiciary Committee's top Democrat
• Senator Feinstein passed way at 90 years old on September 28, 2023.

Let us have a moment of silence to remember Senator Dianne Feinstein who made an incredible impact on our nation.

Moment of Silence for Conflict in Middle East
• Tonight, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the immense sadness, concern and fear that so many abroad and in our own community are now feeling as a result of the recent escalation of violence in the Middle East.
• This heartbreaking violence has caused tragedy that weighs heavily on all of us who are committed to peace in this world.
• I call on our community to keep those who are suffering in our thoughts during this extremely difficult time.
• Let us please have a moment of silence in memory for all the victims of these events that have impacted all of us.
