Please adjourn the February 6, 2024 City Council meeting in honor of Jack Lucas. • Our community lost a leader when Dr. Jack Lucas passed away on January 25, 2024. • A passionate educator, Dr. Lucas's professional background as a high school educator spanned 66 years. He served the Los Gatos - Saratoga High School District as a teacher, athletic coach, Dean of Students, Vice Principal, Continuation High School Principal, and District Administrator of Special Projects and Programs. • His dedication to serve led him to local government. He served the City of Monte Sereno for five terms as Councilmember and five terms as Mayor.
• After term limits ended his municipal government career, Dr. Lucas ran for a seat on the West Valley - Mission Community College District Board of Trustees. Following five terms of service, he was re-elected for his sixth term in 2022.
• Dr. Lucas's legacy lives on in all the lives he touched. He was a dedicated public servant, a passionate educator, and a valued community member. He will be deeply missed.
