WHEREAS, Collaborative Divorce is a process for resolving family law disputes in which clients work together in a respectful way, keeping in mind the importance of protecting their families and loves ones from conflict and with the goal of creating a win -win situation for all participants; and
WHEREAS, founded in 2006, Collaborative Practice California has demonstrated its commitment to helping couples manage their divorce process; and
WHEREAS, Collaborative Practice Silicon Valley supports community members throughout the region as they navigate the challenging process of divorce; and
WHEREAS, Divorce with Respect Week is dedicated to prov iding options for families that are not adversarial and that are focused on the well-being of the spouses and their family; and
WHEREAS, since 2007, the state of California has recognized the Collaborative Law Process in the Family Law Code, Section 2013, as an alternative to adversarial judicial intervention; and
WHEREAS, Collaborative Practice Silicon Valley continues to support the Santa Clara community through its dedication to helping families work together to resolve disputes in a caring and respectful way.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, LISA M. GILLMOR, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor, and on behalf of the entire City Council, do hereby proclaim the week of March 4 th through March 8th, 2024, as
Divorce with Respect Week
in the City of Santa Clara, and encourage residents to seek out the community support they need as they navigate difficult moments in their lives.
