RESOLUTION NO. 24-9308
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING A REZONING FROM PLANNED INDUSTRIAL (MP)
TO HIGH INTENSITY OFFICE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
(HO-RD) FOR THE SITE LOCATED AT 2421, 2431, 2441 and 2451
MISSION COLLEGE BOULEVARD, SANTA CLARA

WHEREAS, On December 6, 2023, the applicant, The Sobrato Organization, representing the property owner, SI 30, LLC and SI 34, LLC, filed for a rezoning from MP Planned Industrial to High Intensity Office / R&D for their properties located at 2421, 2431, 2441 and 2451 Mission College Boulevard (“Project Site”);
WHEREAS, the Project Site is currently developed with four two -story and three-story office buildings, a surface parking lot and site landscaping;
WHEREAS, the Project Site has a General Plan land use designation of High Intensity Office / Research and Development and is zoned Planned Industrial (MP); WHEREAS, the applicant proposes to rezone the property from Planned Industrial (MP) to High-Intensity Office/Research & Development (HO-RD);
WHEREAS, the HO-RD - High-Intensity Office/R&D zoning district directly corresponds to and conforms with the High Intensity Office/R&D General Plan land use designation for the Project Site;
WHEREAS, on December 19, 2023, the City Council adopted an Addendum to the 2010- 2035 General Plan Environmental Impact Report (EIR) analyzing the environmental impacts of the adoption of the Zoning Code Update and associated rezoning actions, and the proposed rezone falls within the scope of that Addendum;
WHEREAS, the Project was reviewed and recommended for approval of the Rezone by the Planning Commission on January 31, 2024;

WHEREAS, on January 24, 2024, notices of the public meeting for the City Council Hearing of March 5, 2024, were posted in three conspicuous locations within 300 feet of the Project Site , and mailed to all property owners within 300 feet of the Project Site boundar ies; and WHEREAS, on March 5, 2024, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing to consider the Rezoning, at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to provide testimony and present evidence, both in support of and in opposition to the proposed rezoning.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF SANTA CLARA AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Council hereby finds that the above Recitals are true and correct and by this reference makes them a part hereof .
2. That the City Council hereby rezones the Project Site from Planned Industrial (MP) to High-Intensity Office/Resea rch & Development (HO-RD).
3. Effective date . This resolution shall become effective immediately.
