My main frustration concerning this resolution is that it is done out of the purview of the public like most issues decided concerning the stadium and the 49ers. 49er management has a disproportionate amount of power and sway on the elected officials that are supposed to represent the public equally. We are all human and thus have "biases" so having public scrutiny is critical to maintaining a balance. This most likely will not be read but hopefully will be part of the public record.

As stated in my other public post I oppose any private settlement apart from public input. I understand the negotiations have to be handled in confidentiality and that's fine. But before anything is finalized there should be public input to many decisions concerning the stadium appear to be handled in private. The 49ers have donated millions of dollars to political campaigns and control a great deal more power than any other organization or individuals concerning this issue.

Seriously? The same year, 2024, that the Council want taxpayers to fund a special Bond because the City can't pay its infrastructure upkeep the Council is considering forking over millions more to the 49ers to pay for VIP perks and more? Unbelievable. Do Council members understand how they look? Jerie Campi

I feel strongly that the City of Santa Clara should NOT accept any settlement from the SF 49ers or any associated entity of the SF49ers. The city is owed ALL money due, not a settlement.
