Other Revenue (CalRecycle
SB 1383 Grant) / Unrestricted
Ending Fund Balance
351,102 351,102 This action recognizes a grant of $351,102 from Cal Recycle through the SB1383 Local Assistance
Grant Program. SB1383 is part of California’s
statewide effort to reduce emissions of short-lived
climate pollutants. The purpose of the grant is to
assist in the City’s implementation of regulatory
requirements associated with SB 1383. This grant
covers a two-year cycle from April 2024 to April
2026. Projected expenditures over the next two
years include the procurement of clean energy,
compost, and mulch for the City of Santa Clara, as
well as personnel and targeted education/outreach
material. Grant funds will also help cover the City’s
annual contribution to Santa Clara County’s edible
food recovery program. As the expenditures for
SB1383 compliance are already appropriated, the
offset is an increase to the Unrestricted Ending
Fund Balance (five affirmative Council votes
required to appropriate additional revenue).
