I am wisng to express my sincere interest in joining the Bicycle and Pedestrian Achisary Committee. As an and cyclist and pedestrian acocate, i am deply committed to promoting sustainabie and accessible modes of transportation within our community. Allow me to elucidate why i am passionate about sening on this advisory board and cutine the specific cbjectives aim to pursue it granted the opportunity to become a member.
First and foremost. I Emy believe that prioritizing the needs of cyclists and pedestrians is paramount for creating safe. healthy, and vitrent communities. Active transportation not only reduces traffic congestion and carbon emissions but also promotes public health and enhances quality of lite. As a member of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, aspire to work collaboratively with fellow committee members and stakeholders to achieve the following objectives:
1. Improing Infrastructure for Cyclists and Pedestrians: One of my primary objectives is to advocate for the development and enhancement of bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure throughout our conmunity. This includes advocating for the construction of bike lanes, muti-use paths, sidewalks, and crosswalks that pricitize the safety and conenience of cyclists and pedestrians. By promoting infrastructure improvements, we can encourage more people to choose active transportation options and create a more equitable and accessible transportation network. 2 Enhancing Safety and Awereness: Safety is paramount for cyclists and pedestrians alike. 1 aim to collaborate with local authonties and transportation agencies to implement safety measures such as tratic camina measures. improved signage, and educational campaigns to raise awareness about the rights and responsibities of all rod users. Aditionally, I advocate for the adoption and enforcement of policies that protect vulnerable road users and priontize their satety.
3. Promoting Active Transportation Culture: To encourage more people to embrace cycling and walking as able modes of transportation. I propose launching outreach and educational initiatives that promote the benefits of active transportation. This includes organizing community events, workshops, and campaigns that highlight the health, environmental, and economic advantages of biking and walking. By fostering a culture of active transportation, we can reduce reliance on cars and promote healthier and more sustainable lifestyles.
4. Adlocating for Equitable Access: Access to safe and corvenient transportation options should be equitable for all members of our community, regardless of their age, income, or ablity. I am committed to adicating for transportation policies and infrastructure investments thet address the needs of undersened and marginalized populations, including seniors, people with disabilities, and low income communities. This includes promoting equitable ostribution of resources and priontizing investments in areas with the greatest need.
5. Collaborating with Stakeholders: Effecting meaningful change requires collaboration and partnership with diverse stakeholders, including local govemment agencies, community organizations, businesses, and residents. As a member of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Adisary Committee, I pledge to engage with these stakeholders in a transparent and inclusive manner, seeking input and feedback to inform our dacision-making process and ensure that our in tatives reflect the needs and priorities of the community:

1am witing to express my interest in joining the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee With a Master of Public Hesith degree from San Jose State Uhiversity and over ten years of professional experience in customer, safety, and security services, Tam confident in my ability to contbute effectively to your team My educations/ background has equipped me with a strong foundation in public health principles, including heath education, preventive medicine, and epidemidogy. My academic achievements, highlighted by a Master's degree in Public Health with a GPA of 3.815 from San Jose State University, reflect my commitment to academic excellence and a profound understanding of the Public Health field.
In my previous role as a Health Education Specialist at the Santa Cara County Public Health Department's Sexual Health and HarReduction Program I have successfully developed and impiemented educational programs to address community health needs. My experience includes consulting with program managers, leading stat, conducting special studies on community attitudes, and providing technical assistance to various stakeholders.
These responsibities have allowed me to hone my skills in program planning, community engagement, and media development. 1am particuary drawn to the City of Santa Clara's mission to build a community free from poverty by creating hope, opportunity, and action. My bilingual prafciency in English and Vietnamese, cougled with my diverse professional experiences, positions me as a valuable asset to facilitate effective communication and engagement with diverse communities.
