RESOLUTION NO. 24-9369
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA,
ESTABLISHING NO PARKING ZONES AS NECESSARY ON
MONROE STREET BETWEEN LAWRENCE EXPRESSWAY AND
SAN TOMAS EXPRESSWAY
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clara Bicycle Plan Update 2018 was approved and adopted by the Council on September 24, 2019 under Resolution No. 19-8761; WHEREAS, Class IIB Buffered Bicycle Lanes on Monroe Street was a recommendation within the adopted Bicycle Plan Update 2018;
WHEREAS, the City established certain parking regulations on Monroe Street between Lawrence Expressway and San Tomas Expressway;
WHEREAS, Public Works staff determined that a modification to the existing parking regulations is necessary to accommodate the proposed bicycle facilities on Monroe Street; and WHEREAS, the City intends to establish new parking regulations on Monroe Street between Lawrence Expressway and San Tomas Expressway based on City Public Works staff findings. //

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF SANTA CLARA AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Manager, or designee, is authorized to establish no parking zones as necessary on Monroe Street between Lawrence Expressway and San Tomas Expressway to implement the Council approved roadway concept entitled "Two Lanes, Buffered Bike Lanes, Center Turn Lane , Parking on Both Sides."
2. Effective date . This resolution shall become effective immediately.
