RESOLUTION NO. 24-9377
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MODIFY PARKING
REGULATIONS ON MARTIN AVENUE BETWEEN LAFAYETTE
STREET AND DE LA CRUZ BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clara Bicycle Plan Update 2018 was approved and adopted by the Council on September 24, 2019 under Resolution No. 19-8761; WHEREAS, Class IV Protected and Buffered Bicycle Lanes on Martin Avenue was a recommendation within the adopted Bicycle Plan Update 2018; WHEREAS, the City established certain parking regulations on Martin Avenue between Lafayette Street and De La Cruz Boulevard;
WHEREAS, Public Works staff determined that a modification to the existing parking regulations is necessary to accommodate the proposed Class IV Protected and Buffered Bicycle Lanes on both sides of Martin Avenue between Lafayette Street and De La Cruz Boulevard and maintain four travel lanes; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to establish new parking regulations on Martin Avenue between Lafayette Street and De La Cruz Boulevard based on City Public Works staff findings. //

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF SANTA CLARA AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Manager is authorized to establish a "No Stopping Anytime" zone along both sides of Martin Avenue from Lafayette Street to De La Cruz Boulevard as needed to implement Class IV Protected and Buffered Bicycle Lanes on both sides of Martin Avenue between Lafayette Street and De La Cruz Boulevard and maintain four travel lanes.
2. Effective date. This resolution shall become effective immediately.
