RESOLUTION NO. 24-9378
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ESTABLISH NO
PARKING ZONES ON WALSH AVENUE BETWEEN SAN TOMAS
EXPRESSWAY AND LAFAYETTE STREET AND ON MARTIN
AVENUE BETWEEN LAFAYETTE STREET AND DE LA CRUZ
BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clara Bicycle Plan Update 2018 was approved and adopted by the Council on September 24, 2019 under Resolution No. 19-8761; WHEREAS, a Class IV Protected and Buffered Bicycle Lanes on Walsh Avenue was a recommendation within the adopted Bicycle Plan Update 2018; WHEREAS, Class IV Protected and Buffered Bicycle Lanes on Martin Avenue was a recommendation within the adopted Bicycle Plan Update 2018; WHEREAS, the City established certain parking regulations on Walsh Avenue between San Tomas Expressway and Lafayette Street;
WHEREAS, the City established certain parking regulations on Martin Avenue between Lafayette Street and De La Cruz Boulevard;
WHEREAS, Public Works staff determined that a modification to the existing parking regulations is necessary to accommodate the proposed bicycle facilities on Walsh Avenue and Martin Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to establish new parking regulations as necessary on Walsh Avenue between San Tomas Expressway and Lafayette Street and on Martin Avenue between Lafayette Street and De La Cruz Boulevard based on City Public Works staff findings. //

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF SANTA CLARA AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Manager, or designee, is authorized to establish no parking zones as necessary on Walsh Avenue between San Tomas Expressway and Lafayette Street and on Martin Avenue between Lafayette Street and De La Cruz Boulevard to implement the City Council's approved roadway designs and support the safe movement of traffic.
2. Effective date. This resolution shall become effective immediately.
