Dear Santa Clara City Manager, December 6th, 2024
Cc: Santa Clara City Attorney, City Clerk and City Council Over the past four years, I have had the privilege of serving the citizens of the City of Santa Clara as a member of the City Council. When I was first clected in the middle of the pandemic, I and the rest of the Santa Clara City Council worked together to put Santa Clarans' quality of life first and helped return Santa Clara to normalcy. I'm proud to say that, together, we achieved remarkable milestones, including ending costly litigation, significantly reducing our deficit, putting a successful infrastructure bond initiative on the ballot, and generating new revenue streams.

It was always a dream of mine to be a part of the government process, creating our city's policies, enhancing development, and shaping the City's direction. I'm deeply grateful for the experience, knowledge gained, and relationships built with the exceptional city staff and residents over the past ten years. It was the greatest honor, joy and privilege to serve as your representative every day since 2018, whether I was on the City Council or the Planning Commission. I will miss being of service to the people of this wonderful city.

I'd like to extend heartfelt thanks to the city staff for their tireless efforts and dedication; Your work is the backbone of our city's progress. I also appreciate the hard work and dedication of my fellow City councilmembers. I wish the City continued success. Santa Clara will always be known as the Center of What's Possible and it will always be at the center of my heart.

Please accept this letter as formal notice of my resignation from my position as City Council Member for District 6, effective today December 6th. 2024.

Sincerely,
Actiny Mote
Anthony J. Becker, Santa Clara Vice Mayor and District 6 Councilmember
