Collaborative Divorce is a process for resolving family law disputes in which clients work together in a respectful way, keeping in mind the importance of protecting their families and loves ones from conflict and with the goal of creating win-win situations for all participants; and
Collaborative Practice California, established in 2006, is an organization consisting of divorce professionals who help individuals learn more about the collaborative process, discover dispute resolution methods and find collaborative attorneys, mental health practitioners and financial specialists; and
the State of California has recognized the Collaborative Law Process in the California Family Law Code Section 2013 as an alternative to adversarial judicial intervention; and
Divorce with Respect Week is dedicated to providing options for families that are not adversarial and that are focused on the well-being of the spouses and their family.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, LISA M. GILLMOR, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor, and on behalf of the Santa Clara City Council, do hereby proclaim March 3 - 9, 2025, as
DIVORCE WITH RESPECT WEEK
and do hereby commend Collaborative Divorce Professionals throughout the City of Santa Clara and the State of California who are joining together to offer free divorce infonnational consultations during Divorce With Respect Week.
