NO MORE Week is an annual international campaign to raise awareness and take action against domestic and sexual violence; and domestic violence crosses all socio-economic, ethnic and religious boundaries, and l in every 3 women will experience domestic violence, l in every 4 women will experience sexual assault, and l in every 6 men have had abusive or unwanted sexual experiences; and we encourage domestic and sexual violence victims and their families to seek assistance from appropriate victims' services organizations such as Next Door Solutions, Asian Women's Home and YWCA; and we support volunteer involvement with local community organizations which support real solutions that eradicate domestic violence; and
the City of Santa Clara is dedicated to preventing domestic violence and addressing its destructive effects and make ending domestic violence and sexual assault in our community a priority.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, LISA M. GILLMOR, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor, and on behalf of the Santa Clara City Council, do hereby proclaim March 2 -8, 2025, as
NO MORE WEEK
in the City of Santa Clara and urge residents to join the movement to eliminate domestic violence and sexual assault, protecting vulnerable members of our community.
