Proclamation
WHEREAS, water is our most valuable natural resource; and WHEREAS, drinking water serves a critical role in our daily life - essential to health, hydration and hygiene; and WHEREAS, tap water is integral to public health and fire protection, support for our economy and the quality of life we enjoy; and WHEREAS, citizens of our city are called upon to help protect our source waters from pollution and practice water conservation as we are all stewards of the water infrastructure that current and future generations rely upon; and WHEREAS, rinking water week serves to remind citizens of the hard work performed by the entire public water sector, designing capital project perators ensuring the safety and quality of drinking water or a member of a pipe crew maintaining the infrastructure communities re on to transport high quality drinking water from its source to consumers' taps.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, LISA M. GILMOR, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor, and on behalf of the entire City Council, do hereby proclaim May 4 - 10, 2025 as
DRINKING WATER WEEK
in the City of Santa Clara and do hereby urge all citizens to recognize the vital role water plays in our daily lives.
