Lets not forget that in March 2022, Mayor Gillmor sent a letter to Governor Gavin Newsom advocating for Related Companies to be exempt from paying prevailing wages on their Santa Clara project. This request aimed to reduce labor costs for the developer. Notably, this action occurred months before Related Companies contributed $250,000 to an independent expenditure committee supporting Gillmor's re-election campaign.
