Re: Mills Act Application for 1458 Lexington Street

Dear Historical and Landmark Commissioners,

We are excited to apply for the Mills Act for our historic home at 1458 Lexington Street. We fell in love with both the community and the homes of the Old Quad neighborhood when we started renting here in 2021. The character of the historic homes appealed to us immensely; when we were ready to start looking for a home, we had a difficult time imagining ourselves anywhere else. Most of the offers we placed were within this neighborhood, and we were so thrilled when we closed on our current home. We are excited to be able to give this home the love and attention that it needs and intend to preserve its historic character. We would be grateful for the support that the Mills Act would provide us in our efforts should our application be accepted.

We appreciate your time in reviewing our application, including William Kostura’s historic evaluation that supports the historic significance of our home. Thank you for your consideration.

We look forward to working with you to preserve this home and neighborhood.

Sincerely,

Cameron Carty and Rachel Law
