Proclamation
WHEREAS, JustServe believes in spreading hope, goodness, and unity through the vital role of volunteerism, and offers a free platform, available online and through a mobile app, that links individuals with local service projects and helps nonprofits, schools, government agencies, and community organizations connect with volunteers; and WHEREAS, JustServe has grown into a movement that reaches 17 countries, nearly one million volunteers, more than 16,000 organizations, and more than 400 cities; and WHEREAS, through its JustServe City program, JustServe partners with cities to make it easier for residents to find and engage in volunteer opportunities; and WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clara aspires to support volunteerism throughout the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, LISA M. GILLMOR, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor, and on behalf of the City of Santa Clara, do hereby proclaim that the City of Santa Clara commits to promoting volunteerism and to participating in the JustServe volunteer opportunities platform, and recognize
JUSTSERVE
for its dedication to spreading hope, goodness, and unity through service. The City of Santa Clara will leverage JustServe.org to make it easier for residents to find and engage in volunteer opportunities, and will regularly acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of its volunteers.
