RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA,
CALIFORNIA, TO ESTABLISH A NO STOPPING ZONE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF ESPUELLA DRIVE, STARTING AT 150 FEET AND EXTENDING A DISTANCE OF 295
FEET WEST OF CABALLETA DRIVE AND A NO STOPPING ZONE ON THE SOUTH
SIDE OF ESPUELLA DRIVE, BETWEEN BOUQUET CANYON ROAD AND CABALLETA DRIVE, BETWEEN 7:00 A.M. AND 8:30 A.M. AND BETWEEN 1:00 P.M. AND 3:30 P.M.
ON SCHOOL DAYS ONLY.
WHEREAS, Section 22507 of the California Vehicle Code of the State of California provides for local authorities to prohibit stopping, standing, or Stopping of vehicles on certain streets or highways, or portions thereof during certain or all hours of the day; and
WHEREAS, a No Stopping zone between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on school days only along the north side of Espuella Drive, starting at 150 feet and extending a distance of 295 feet west of Caballeta Drive will improve emergency vehicle access during student arrival and dismissal hours; and
WHEREAS, a No Stopping zone between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on school days only along the south side of Espuella Drive, between Bouquet Canyon Road and Caballeta Drive will improve emergency vehicle access during student arrival and dismissal hours; and
WHEREAS, it is consistent with normal traffic engineering practices to establish a 295-foot No Stopping zone between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on school days only on the north side of Espuella Drive, starting at 150 feet and extending a distance of 295 feet west of Caballeta Drive; and
WHEREAS, it is consistent with normal traffic engineering practices to establish a No Stopping zone between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on school days only on the south side of Espuella Drive, between Bouquet Canyon Road and Caballeta Drive.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita, California, does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That a 295-foot No Stopping zone between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on school days only along the north side of Espuella Drive, starting at 150 feet and extending a distance of 295 feet west of Caballeta Drive, shall be established.
SECTION 2. That a No Stopping zone between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on school days only along the south side of Espuella Drive, between Bouquet Canyon Road and Caballeta Drive, shall be established.
SECTION 3. That the 295-foot No Stopping zone shall apply when appropriate signs giving adequate notice thereof have been placed as described in Section 1.
SECTION 4. That the No Stopping zone shall apply when appropriate signs giving adequate notice thereof have been placed as described in Section 2.
SECTION 5. That staff shall install the necessary signs to effect this resolution.
SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
