Dear Mr. Striplin:

We have prepared our annual request to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors (Board) to update the Developer Fee Program for the benefit of the Consolidated Fire Protection District of Los Angeles County (Fire District). A copy of the updated Detailed Fire Station Plan, the 2022 Developer Fee Update Fee Calculation Summary, and the Developer Fee Funds 2021-22 Fiscal Year-End Report are enclosed for your information. This year we are recommending an increase in the developer fee rate from $1.4316 to $1.5499 per square foot of new development in the Santa Clarita Valley Area of Benefit. This rate increase is a result of cumulative fire station development financing costs, land costs, fire station development costs, fire apparatus and equipment costs, as well as increased administrative costs associated with the Developer Fee Program.

Also enclosed is the Notice of Public Hearing which will be held on January 31, 2023. This notice shall be published in the local newspapers within the affected areas and posted on the Board's website and at the Fire District's Fire Prevention offices within the Developer Fee Areas of Benefit. Please also have a copy of the notice posted at a public counter within the City of Santa Clarita for a period of at least ten days prior to the public hearing date.

If you have any questions or wish to discuss this matter, you may contact me at (323) 881-2404, or at Marcia. [email protected] Very truly yours,
Mucia. A- Velasaug
