SUBJECT: TWO 2023 FORD F-250 TRUCKS AND ONE 2023 FORD F-350
TRUCK PURCHASE

RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council:
1. Approve the purchase of two 2023 Ford F-250 trucks from AutoNation Ford Valencia for a total amount not to exceed $63,784 each.
2. Approve the purchase of one 2023 Ford F-350 truck from AutoNation Ford Valencia for a total amount not to exceed $73,000.
3. Authorize the City Manager or designee to execute all documents, subject to City Attorney approval.
BACKGROUND
PARKS:
During the Fiscal Year 2023-24 budget process, the City Council authorized the procurement of two trucks to support the Parks Division. Following a procurement process consisting of a cost analysis and a bid advertisement through the City of Santa Clarita’s (City) e-procurement platform, BidNet, the City received bids from three dealerships. The results are as follows:

All three bidders provided pricing for two 2023 Ford F-250 trucks, meeting the City’s required specifications. AutoNation Ford Valencia, a local dealer within the City, provided the lowest- priced bid and is able to deliver the trucks immediately. Moreover, the City has purchased vehicles from AutoNation Ford Valencia in the past and is confident that they will add quality trucks to the City’s fleet.
COMMUNITY PRESERVATION (GRAFFITI):
On October 27, 2021, the City Council authorized a piggy-back purchase through National Auto Fleet Group (NAFG) of a Ford F-350 truck with a power washer for $72,151 to replace Vehicle 163, which is used for graffiti removal in the Community Preservation Division. Following City Council’s approval, staff placed the vehicle order through NAFG. However, due to limited inventory and the impact of inflation, the order was delayed, and the initially quoted price increased significantly. As a result, staff elected to cancel the order through NAFG and determine availability from local dealerships.
Consequently, AutoNation Ford Valencia was able to provide the City with a competitive price of $73,000 for a Ford F-350 with a power washer, meeting all of the City’s required specifications.

FISCAL IMPACT
Adequate funds are available in expenditure accounts 3677401-520103 (Parks Facilities); 3677300-520103 (Parks Admin); and 7222103-52103 (Vehicle Replacement) to support the recommended action.
