RESOLUTION NO. 26-__
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, TO ESTABLISH A 270-FOOT LOADING/UNLOADING ZONE ON SCHOOL DAYS ONLY AND A 330-FOOT NO PARKING ZONE ON SCHOOL DAYS
ONLY, ALONG THE EAST SIDE OF CATALA AVENUE, SOUTH OF ONLEE AVENUE
WHEREAS, Section 22507 of the California Vehicle Code of the State of California provides for local authorities to prohibit stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles on certain streets or highways, or portions thereof during certain or all hours of the day; and
WHEREAS, a Loading/Unloading zone between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. and between 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. on school days only along the east side of Catala Avenue, starting at 190 feet north of Empino Lane and extending 270 feet to Onlee Avenue, will improve traffic circulation and enhance pedestrian safety during student arrival and dismissal hours; and
WHEREAS, a No Parking zone between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. and between 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. on school days only along the east side of Catala Avenue, starting at 30 feet south of Empino Lane, extending 330 feet to the south, will improve traffic circulation and enhance pedestrian safety during student arrival and dismissal hours; and
WHEREAS, it is consistent with normal traffic engineering practices to establish a 270- foot Loading/Unloading zone between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. and between 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. on school days only on the east side of Catala Avenue, starting at 190 feet north of Empino Lane and extending 270 feet to Onlee Avenue; and
WHEREAS, it is consistent with normal traffic engineering practices to establish a 330- foot No Parking zone between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. and between 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. on school days only on the east side of Catala Avenue, starting at 30 feet south of Empino Lane, extending 330 feet to the south.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That a 270-foot Loading/Unloading zone between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. and between 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. on school days only along the east side of Catala Avenue, starting at 190 feet north of Empino Lane and extending 270 feet to Onlee Avenue, shall be established.
SECTION 2. That a 330-foot No Parking zone between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. and between 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. on school days only along the east side of Catala Avenue, starting at 30 feet south of Empino lane, extending 330 feet to the south, shall be established.
SECTION 3. That a 270-foot Loading/Unloading zone shall apply when appropriate signs giving adequate notice thereof have been placed as described in Section 1.
SECTION 4. That a 330-foot No Parking zone shall apply when appropriate signs giving adequate notice thereof have been placed as described in section 2.
SECTION 5. That staff shall install the necessary signs to effect this resolution.
SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
