SUBJECT: RETIREMENT RESOLUTION FOR POLICE SERGEANT PAUL FLORES RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council adopt a Resolution commending Police Sergeant Paul Flores for his 32 years of outstanding service to the City of Santa Maria and congratulating him on his retirement.
BACKGROUND:
Sergeant Paul Flores has been employed by the City of Santa Maria since April 24, 1989. The Santa Maria Police Department would like to recognize Sergeant Flores for his 32 years of law enforcement service, which includes his 32 years of dedicated public service to the City of Santa Maria, its residents, and its businesses.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MARIA,
CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING POLICE SERGEANT PAUL FLORES FOR HIS 32 YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE CITY OF SANTA MARIA
AND CONGRATULATING HIM ON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Sergeant Paul Flores has been employed by, and has faithfully served, the City of Santa Maria since April 24, 1989, as a dedicated public servant exemplifying service, professionalism, and dedication to the police profession; and WHEREAS, Sergeant Paul Flores has shown empathy and concern for members of the public that he has worked with; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Paul Flores spent his law enforcement career with the City as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Corporal, Patrol Sergeant, and Detective Sergeant; and WHEREAS, Sergeant Paul Flores has been vital to the health and progression of the organization; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Paul Flores' commitment and devotion to duty have contributed measurably to the quality of life that residents, businesses, and visitors enjoy in Santa Maria.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, as follows:
"SERGEANT PAUL FLORES"
is commended for his faithful, distinguished, and devoted service to the Santa Maria community, is congratulated on his retirement, and he and his family are wished good health and many years of happiness.
