SUBJECT: BUSINESSES OF THE MONTH — FEBRUARY 2022
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Mayor and City Council present a certificate to the featured Businesses of the Month of February — Neuroboxing Santa Maria and Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Santa Maria and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce have partnered to highlight different businesses in the City through a Business of the Month Program. This Program gives recognition to businesses who have been in the community for a significant amount of time, and/or provide unique or significant contributions to the community. Not only does this give valuable exposure to these local businesses, but it also reminds the community of the unique, diverse, and long-standing businesses they are fortunate to have in Santa Maria.
The focus for the next 12 months will be on major manufacturers and women -owned businesses in the Santa Maria Valley. Using these two categories to filter businesses will allow the collaborators to highlight a targeted but diverse group of businesses. Each month, one business from each of these two categories will be recognized during the first City Council Meeting of the month and announced in a press release and on social media distributed by the City and Chamber.
