SUBJECT: BUSINESSES OF THE MONTH — APRIL 2022
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Mayor and City Council present a certificate to the featured Businesses of the Month of April 2022 — Care Connection Transport Services and Safran Cabin.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Santa Maria and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce have partnered to highlight different businesses in the City through a Business of the Month Program. This Program gives recognition to businesses that have been in the community for a significant amount of time, and/or provide unique or significant contributions to the community. Not only does this give valuable exposure to these local businesses, but it also reminds the community of the unique, diverse, and long-standing businesses they are fortunate to have in Santa Maria.
The focus for this year will be on major manufacturers and women -owned businesses in the Santa Maria Valley. Using these two categories to filter businesses will allow the collaborators to highlight a targeted but diverse group of businesses. Each month, one business from each of these two categories will be recognized during one City Council Meeting of the month and announced in a press release and on social media distributed by the City and Chamber.
This month's Women -owned business is Care Connection Transport Services, an essential non -emergency medical transportation service for behavioral health clients throughout the Central Coast. The manufacturer of the month is Safran Cabin, an international aerospace tech company that provides innovative cabin interiors, systems, equipment, and services to enhance the user experience.
