SUBJECT: PRESENTATION — CENTRAL COAST COMMUNITY ENERGY
ANNUAL MEMBER AGENCY UPDATE
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council receive a presentation from Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) to provide its annual member agency update.
BACKGROUND:
Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) is a Community Choice Energy agency established by local communities to source clean and renewable electricity for Santa Barbara, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, San Benito, and Santa Cruz counties while retaining the utility provider's traditional role of delivering power and maintaining electric infrastructure, as well as billing.
The City is a Joint Powers of Agreement (JPA) member of 3CE. Mayor Patino serves on its Policy Board and City Manager Stilwell serves on its Operating Board and its Energy Risk Management Oversight Committee. The 3CE staff is committed to providing an annual update to each of their 33 JPA member agencies which have helped to create one of the most impactful and innovative community choice energy agencies in California.
Jenna Espinosa, Manager of Customer Accounts and Services, will share a PowerPoint Presentation including an overview of the past year's activities and accomplishments, as well as upcoming outlooks and strategies.
