RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MARIA,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA
CONSERVATION CORP GRANTING THE USE OF THE
NEWLOVE NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Maria is the owner of the Newlove Neighborhood Center at 1619 South Thornburg Street; and
WHEREAS, the California Conservation Corps has agreed to provide, in-lieu of rent, 3,000 hours of crew work; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Maria and California Conservation Corp recognize the mutual benefit of allowing the use of the Newlove Neighborhood Center from which to offer the youth of Santa Maria a meaningful training program; and
WHEREAS, the California Conservation Corps and the City of Santa Maria wish to enter into this mutually beneficial agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitals are true and correct; and
2. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to execute an Agreement on behalf of the City with the California Conservation Corp pursuant to the terms and conditions provided in the Attachment to the Council Agenda Report and incorporated herein by reference; and
3. The Chief Deputy City Clerk is hereby authorized to make minor changes herein to address clerical errors, so long as substantial conformance of the intent of this document is maintained. In doing so, the Chief Deputy City Clerk shall consult with the City Manager and City Atto rney concerning any changes deemed necessary.
