RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MARIA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING TWO AGREEMENTS FOR
LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES BETWEEN THE SANTA
MARIA POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE SANTA MARIA JOINT
UNIFIED HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the City has been providing law enforcement services for the Santa Maria Joint Unified High School District (SMJUHSD) since 1997, and both the City and the District desire to continue this partnership as it relates to law enforcement services, and have agreed in principle as to the cost for services and the scope of work; and
WHEREAS, both the City and SMJUHSD desire to enter into agreements to establish their rights and duties with respect to providing regular and supplemental law enforcement services for the School District.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California, that the City Council authorizes the following:
1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute the agreements on behalf of the City and to take all steps necessary to implement and sustain the program.
2. The City Council of the City of Santa Maria hereby authorizes and directs the Chief of Police, or his designee, to enter into extensions and execute amendments consistent with the terms of the agreements, in order to comply with billing rates set forth by the City of Santa Maria.
