Proclamation
WHEREAS, the Orcutt 14U All-Stars baseball team this year made history through a potent combination of skill, determination, and teamwork; and
WHEREAS, they became the first local baseball team from the Santa Maria Valley to win a Babe Ruth World Series age group title, in August winning the 14U Babe Ruth World Series in Virginia; and
WHEREAS, the 15-member team consists of Mason Majewski, Dom Nevarez, Ryan Aparicio, Ashton Bluem, Connor Chanley, Cristiano Goncalves, Robbie Roemling, Santana Covarrubias, Kamron Walker, Mason Anderson, Carter Anaya, Daniel Tovar, Jacob Rodriguez, Nolan Roberts and Aaden Roberson, and
WHEREAS, Mike Roberson was the manager , and t he coaches were Tony Bluem, Ryan Walker and Matt Majewski, and
WHEREAS, while their journey was not easy, these athletes dominated their competition, running their team record to 19-2 including a remarkable playoff run of 7-1 at both the state tournament and the regional tournament, and 7 -0 at the Babe Ruth World Series; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of the team’s excellence, Aparicio was the World Series tournament MVP , Mason Majewski was the Defensive Player of the Tournament , and Aparicio and Roemling were the co-Offensive Players of the Tournament.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALICE M. PATINO, Mayor of the City of Santa Maria hereby commends the
“2023 Orcutt 14U All-Stars Baseball Team”
and congratulates the manag ers, coaches, and their families for their success in leading these fine young men in life lessons and teaching them the sport of baseball.
