SUBJECT: Appointment of Representatives for the Central Coast Community Energy Operations Board
Description:
The City Council will consider making appointments to the Central Coast Community Energy Operations Board consisting of Interim City Manager Alex Posada as a Representative, and Interim Assistant City Manager Chuen Wu as an Alternate Representative.
Environmental Notice: The activity is not a “Project” as defined under Section 15378 of the California Environmental Quality Act State Guidelines; therefore, pursuant to State Guidelines Section 15060(c)(3) no environmental review is required.
RECOMMENDATION:
Appoint Interim City Manager Alex Posada as Representative, with Interim Assistant City Manager Chuen Wu as Alternate Representative , to the Central Coast Community Energy Operations Board.
BACKGROUND:
Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) is an outside board with City Council and staff representation on its Policy and Operations Boards, respectively. Mayor Patino is the current Representative on the Policy Board and Councilmember Cordero is the Alternate Representative. The previous City Manager and Assistant City Manager served as the Representative and Alternate Representative on the Operations Board. The replacement of representatives for the Operations Board is needed due to the recent departure of staff.
Fiscal Considerations
There are no fiscal impacts to the City for these appointments.
Impact to the Community
Santa Maria’s power needs and best interests will be represented at 3CE.
