Santa Barbara County Taxpayers Association (SBCTA), a non-profit government watchdog and business advocacy group, promotes a balanced economy, economic growth, and lower taxes for families and small businesses in Santa Barbara County and the cities therein.
On November 7 you will consider Agenda Item 12.b, approval of an agreement with Forefront Power for the construction of Solar Photovoltaic Systems at eight City real sites. Forefront has partnered with the Santa Maria Airport, and Hancock College on installation of similar systems with great success. In 2012, the County of San Luis Obispo hired the company to install solar generation facilities at its Operations Center.
The first-year savings were $138,000 and 20-year savings will be as much as $6.2 million.
