*** EXTERNAL EMAIL: Please use caution when opening links or attachments.*** I would strongly support the adoption of plan A. It would seem you are splitting the middle and trying to keep all sides happy. The city of Santa Maria is going to grow over the next 27 years. The greatest flexibility is annex as much land as possible. I know this is difficult with Santa Barbara. We are better off starting this early and putting our desire down now than waiting into the future and losing control of the land. I would support more than what is requested in option A of 1,770 acres. I think we should try for 3000 acres.
Even if we do not use all of what we annex we are better off. Then with the land we annex we can control density and options. We will only have this chance once. Left to the county our interest is not represented.
Please be courageous and bold. Now is the time to act so Santa Maria charts its own destiny.
