Subject: Input for future general plan
*** EXTERNAL EMAIL: Please use caution when opening links or attachments.*** I am a resident of the city of Santa Maria ( ) and in Santa Maria area since 1974. I have seen and experienced the growth since moving here to Santa Maria from the Midwest.
I just read in the Santa Maria Times about the general plan for future growth being voted upon at your Nov 7th council meeting.
I disagree with the Planning Commission support of Alternative C and the negative impacts to our city.
I ask that you vote for Alternative B. This plan provides much more lifestyle positives for residents, lifestyle and environment. The other Alternatives A and C would result in a negative impact to agriculture which is very important to our city and valley.
Would I like to have my residence on the east side of Hwy 101? Yes that would very much appeal to me, however, I need to not be self centered and look at the good for our community in regard to the positives of Alternative B.
In the future annexation in the east and/or west would be considered but only when needed. It is not needed or beneficial to our community at this time.
Please vote Alternative B.
