RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING MIKE
DAVIS FOR HIS 34 YEARS OF EXEMPLARY PUBLIC SERVICE
WHEREAS, Mike Davis has been a valuable member of the City team since 1989; and
WHEREAS, with 34 years of service, Mike served a lead role in several noteworthy projects and was known for his effort and ambition; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure, Mike started the City’s first website, had the City’s first email address, and his knowledge and carefu l attention to detail assisted in several upgrades to the City’s telephone system; and
WHEREAS, Mike helped the Information Technology (I.T.) team rebuild the City’s communications structure for all 10 departments, and played a significant role in the rollout of Windows 7 and Office 13, and in 2015 with the City’s launch of its ShoreTel phone system; and
WHEREAS, a major accomplishment he assisted with was the multi - million-dollar Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management System (RMS) hardware and software installation in 2019 at the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Davis retired on October 6, 2023, and the Santa Maria City Council wishes to recognize Mike for his lasting contributions to the community.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, as follows:
MIKE DAVIS
is hereby recognized and commended for his 34 years of exemplary service to the residents and businesses of Santa Maria, and we wish him well in all his future endeavors.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California, held this 7th day of November 2023.
