A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING MIKE DAVIS FOR HIS 34 YEARS OF EXEMPLARY PUBLIC SERVICE WHEREAS, Mike Davis has been a valuable member of the City team since 1989; and
WHEREAS, with 34 years of service , Mike served a lead role in several noteworthy projects and was known for his effort and ambition; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure , Mike started the City ’s first website, had th e City ’s first email address, and his knowledge and careful attention to detail assisted in several upgrades to the City’s telephone system; and
WHEREAS, Mike helped the Information Technology (I.T.) team rebuild the City’s co mmunications structure for all 10 departments, and played a significant rol e in the rollout of Window s 7 and Office 13, and in 2015 with the City’s launch of its ShoreTel phone system; and
WHEREAS, a major accomplishment he assisted with was the multi-million-dollar Computer A ided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management S ystem (RMS) hardware and softw are installation in 2019 at the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Davis retired on October 6, 2023, and the Santa Maria City Council wishes to recognize Mike for his lasting contributions to the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, as follows:
MIKE DAVIS
is hereby recognized and comme nded for his 34 years of exemplary service to the residents a nd businesses of Santa Maria, and we wish him well in all his future endeavors.
